Is Latin America’s leading company in the production and marketing of wood boards for furniture making and interior design, selling its products in nine countries in the Americas.

Net sales in 2006 reached US$887 million. GrupoNueva www.gruponueva.com controls Masisa with 53.3% of company shares in December 2006. The remaining percentage is owned by Chilean (pension funds) and foreign stockholders (American Depositary Receipts) and its stock is traded on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), and on the Chilean stock market through the Bolsa de Comercio de Santiago, the Bolsa de Valores de Valparaíso, and the Bolsa Electrónica.

The headquarters is legally domiciled in Santiago, Chile.

Masisa’s value proposition is to provide a reliable brand to its stakeholders; to anticipate the needs of markets through innovative products and services, and operate in a manner that demonstrates social and environmental responsibility through its triple bottom line management strategy.

The company has 13 board-producing industrial complexes in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela and Mexico, all of which are ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certified (except in the case of Venezuela that will be certified in 2007), and a plant under construction in Cabrero, Chile.

Masisa has three divisions that operate in a synergic manner with the main Board Division: the Forestry, Solid Wood, and the Retail Divisions that allow the company to generate value and increase its competitivity.

The Forestry Division has assets of 244,000 hectares of FSC-certified forest plantations in Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Venezuela that guarantee supply of the necessary raw materials.

The Wood Division processes some of these forestry resources in the production of value-added products such as moldings and doors, and generates sub-products such as woodchips and sawdust that serve as input for the board production process.

The Retail Division seeks to optimize the Placacentros’ distribution network. Placacentros form a network of retail outlets that operate under the same brand name and format. These outlets provide all the products and services necessary for small and medium-sized furniture making businesses. Masisa currently has 300 retail outlets throughout Latin America.
